Privacy Policy

Effective June 11, 2026

Government Context ("we", "us") provides analysis of the public rulemaking record at regulations.gov. This policy describes what we collect from you and how we use it.

What we collect

Account data: your email address, name, organization name, and a salted hash of your password (we never store the password itself). Usage data: the documents, topics, and agencies you follow, your notification preferences, and server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) kept for security and debugging. Billing data: handled by Stripe; we store your subscription status and seat count, never your card number.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, run third-party advertising, or share your follows or activity with anyone outside your organization. Members of your organization can see the organization's shared subscriptions.

Public data

The dockets, documents, and public comments we display are part of the public record published by U.S. federal agencies at regulations.gov, including any names and organizations their submitters chose to make public there. We are not affiliated with any U.S. government agency.

Service providers

We use Cloudflare (hosting), DigitalOcean (databases), Stripe (payments), and Resend (transactional email). Each processes only what it needs to provide its service.

Cookies

We set one essential cookie — your session — and nothing else. No tracking cookies, no analytics beacons.

Retention & deletion

Account data is kept while your account is active. Email privacy@governmentcontext.com to delete your account; we remove personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax or legal compliance.

Changes

We'll email account owners about material changes to this policy before they take effect.
