U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent to Travel to Arizona

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent will travel to Arizona on August 5–6 to meet with Arizona manufacturers, business leaders, and community bankers to discuss the Trump Administration's pro-growth economic agenda and efforts to strengthen the integrity of the U.S. financial system.

Secretary Bessent to Visit a Manufacturing Facility in Casa Grande

Secretary Bessent will join Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and Congressman Juan Ciscomani for a tour of a manufacturing facility and an economic roundtable with Arizona business leaders.

The visit will highlight the historic benefits of the Working Families Tax Cuts for Arizona families, workers, and manufacturers, and how President Trump's pro-growth economic policies are helping businesses expand, invest, hire, and empower hardworking Americans.

At the conclusion of the roundtable, Secretary Bessent, Speaker Johnson, and Congressman Ciscomani will hold an on-the-record press conference.

Secretary Bessent to Meet with Arizona Community Bankers

Secretary Bessent and U.S. Comptroller of the Currency Jonathan Gould will discuss the Administration’s efforts to alleviate the regulatory burden on community banks and drive growth on Main Street. Additionally, they will highlight the important role community banks play in safeguarding economic security and measures to strengthen the integrity of the financial system with community bankers from across the state.

The Secretary and Comptroller will speak to the President’s recent Executive Order to protect America’s financial system from illicit activity, strengthen customer identification requirements for financial institutions, and address the credit risks posed by extending financial services to non-work authorized illegal aliens, and the bankers’ role in supporting. In addition, they will address Treasury’s recent advisory urging financial institutions to be vigilant against risks presented by the unlawful employment of illegal aliens.
