The Bureau of Land Management Northwest Oregon District Siuslaw Field Office has issued a decision record and prepared Categorical Exclusion documentation to authorize a Right-of-Way agreement with a telecommunications company, to place buried 24-count fiber optic cables in a conduit to provide commercial service to existing and future homes in the surrounding area. This fiber optic internet service provider would be installing the cables along the existing road and installing a vault near the existing cell tower compound. This project is planned in conformance with the 2016 Northwestern and Coastal Oregon Resource Management Plan and Record of Decision. The Categorical Exclusion documentation and Decision Record can be accessed digitally at Badger Mountain Fiber Optic Installation.
This project is located just west of Noti, Oregon in Lane County. For more information, please contact the Siuslaw Field Office Manager, Sarah Bickford, at [email protected].
