BLM closes specific public lands in Gunnison and Hinsdale counties due to wildfire
Gunnison, Colo. – The Bureau of Land Management Gunnison Field Office has issued a temporary emergency closure for specific public lands within Gunnison and Hinsdale counties to support wildfire response efforts and protect public safety.
Effective immediately and until further notice, the following are closed to all public entry and use:

BLM-managed public lands west and east of Colorado State Highway 149 occurring within: Township 44 N, Range 4 W, and
-
Township 45 N, Range 4 W.

BLM-managed public lands between Hinsdale County Road 20 and north to the U.S. Forest Service boundary, starting at the Ute-Ulay Mine site then proceeding west to the intersection of County Road 24 at Capitol City, and proceeding northwest along County Road 24 to the U.S. Forest Service boundary, and occurring within: Sections 32, 33, 34, 35, and 36, T. 44 N., R. 5 W., and

Section 36, T. 44 N., R. 6 W., and
-
Section 05 and 06, T. 43 N., R. 5 W., and
-
Section 01, T. 43 N., R. 6 W.

Please remain clear of these areas for your wellbeing, and so firefighters can continue their work safely and effectively. Note that this closure is in addition to existing fire restrictions currently in place. We appreciate your understanding and support during this critical time.
