Event Description
The Bureau of Land Management will offer wild horses and burros for adoption and sale to qualified homes July 15 and 29 at the wild horse and burro off-range corral facility in Delta, Utah. The special events offer a unique opportunity for surrounding area residents to bring home a part of America’s public lands heritage.
The events will feature wild horses and burros gathered from overpopulated herds on public lands to help protect rangeland and herd health. Adopting or purchasing a wild horse or burro from the BLM not only provides a rewarding partnership, but also supports the agency’s efforts to responsibly manage healthy herds and healthy public rangelands.
Gates will be open at the facility from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 15 and July 29. The facility is located at 600 North 400 West in Delta, Utah.
Animals offered at this event are unhandled, healthy, vaccinated, and ready for their new home. BLM staff will be on site to assist with applications and answer questions. Fees start at $125. To qualify, applicants must be at least 18 years old and able to provide a safe, humane home. Find the full list of BLM’s adoption and purchasing requirements.
