ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comments on a Special Recreation Permit application from H5 Events, Inc., to hold the Red Bull Rampage mountain bike competition on public lands near Virgin in Washington County. This would be a freeride competition that utilizes steep terrain, vertical relief, and natural geologic features that allow competitors to develop customized descent routes.

The event would include start and finish lines, spectator viewing areas, media staging, medical and other event support tents, and ease of accessibility. The proposed project area includes lands used for the original Red Bull Rampage events held between 2001 and 2004. Since 2008, the event was held on nearby Utah Trust Lands. The applicant has proposed returning to the original BLM areas in 2026 to commemorate 25 years since the first event.

Additional information is available at the BLM National NEPA Register, where comments may be submitted through the ‘Participate Now’ option until July 12, 2026.
