July 6, 2026

BOISE, Idaho —The Bureau of Land Management Four Rivers Field Office is issuing a temporary closure of BLM-managed public lands and trails within the Boise Foothills, approximately two miles northwest of Boise due to the Claremont Fire.

Specifically, the closure includes BLM-managed lands, roads, and trails (except those maintained by Ada County) between Bogus Basin Road, Idaho State Highway 21, and Boise Ridge Road. This closure is in effect beginning July 6, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. and is anticipated to be lifted July 11, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. This closure is necessary to ensure the safety of the public and firefighters engaged in suppression operations on the Claremont Fire. This closure does not affect private land.

The Claremont Fire was discovered on Monday, July 6, 2026, approximately one mile northwest Boise. At the time of this announcement, the fire burned roughly 2,000 acres of grass and brush. Public and wildland firefighter safety remains the BLM and the US Wildland Fire Service’s highest priority.
