FERRON, Utah — The Bureau of Land Management has approved a direct land sale of the Millsite Golf Course to Ferron City at fair market value. Ferron City has leased the 157-acre property since 1985 through the Recreation and Public Purposes Act.

Under the Act, Ferron City leased the land while the federal government retained ownership rights if the lease terms were not met. By purchasing those remaining federal interests, the city will receive full ownership of the surface estate through a land patent and clear title. The federal government retains the mineral estate.

Sale proceeds will be held in an account designated by Section 1253 of Public Law 116-9 (the Dingell Act) to be used to benefit public lands and cultural resources in Emery County.

Additional information is available at the BLM National NEPA Register. For more information, please contact BLM Planning and Environmental Specialist Daniel Kauffman at [email protected] or 435-781-4425.
