Autonomous cars are a great idea, but what happens when something fails? When a sensor breaks down or the stopping mechanism is faulty? People need a way to manually stop in an emergency using a method that they don't have to search for. If cars used for driver's education have a brake pedal, then autonomous cars need one as well.
