Summary: The commenter expresses a mixed perspective on the proposed action, acknowledging the benefits of removing unnecessary appliances while emphasizing the need to maintain rider comfort and safety features like windshield wipers and emergency brakes. They argue that these features are essential for public acceptance and trust in autonomous vehicles.
While I think removing unnecessary appliances from the car is beneficial, I think it is important to keep the riders comfort in mind as well due to them being one ones who are in the car. Take for example windshield wipers, while the car might not need them to see if it is raining out, I'm sure that the riders mind would be put at much more ease if they could see during a storm compared to if they couldn't. I also believe that having an emergency brake in the car would make people much more open to riding the unmanned cars. Again, I'm all for AVs, they are safer, more disability friendly, but that won't matter if people won't step foot in the car. Thank you for taking the time to read my comment, I hope you have a wonderful day!
