Summary: The commenter supports the initiative by suggesting the creation of a standardized satisfaction survey for transit agencies. They argue that such a tool would help agencies compare metrics, gain a nationwide perspective, and make data-driven improvements to increase ridership.
I think it would be incredibly helpful to create a standardized Satisfaction Survey the transit agencies could use to compare metrics with similar agencies as well as gain a nationwide perspective on how people feel about their systems. In recent years surveying and creating metrics to guide improvement for transit riders has become a much more standard practice. A standardized Survey would allow even more agencies to adopt this practice and make improvements that actually affect riders and increase ridership. Something that will be a necessity as time goes on and our transportation infrastructure gets even more crowded.
