The Mid-States Corridor is too destructive to our county’s quality of life. We will have dead end roads and J-turns. The J-turns aren’t the safest option to build. The dead-end roads will increase the time it takes for those of us who live and work in Dubois County to get to work, school, etc. and for Emergency Services to get to us! Please cancel this project! An independent poll of Dubois County voters in December 2025 by Public Policy Polling found that the vast majority – 81% of Dubois County voters oppose the Mid-States Corridor. A second poll was conducted in February 2026 of all Indiana voters. The second poll by Public Policy Polling found that 74% of Indiana voters want the Mid-States Corridor canceled, and 88% of the voters want the funds to be used to repair/maintain the existing local roads. Amendment 11 specifies that any INDOT project of this magnitude must come before the State Budget Agency for review before it can proceed. INDOT has already canceled or postponed over 340 road and bridge projects due to lack of funding. So how can INDOT have the funds for the Mid-States Corridor? The USDA’s programs seek to protect the nation’s farmlands, especially multi-generational farmland. The proposed Mid-States Corridor project would destroy thousands of acres of farmland, which includes many Hoosier Homestead Farms that are multi-generational farms in the same family for 100, 150 and 175+ years. Why would one federal agency seek to destroy what another federal agency seeks to protect? Interstates and Highways already exist in the area. We don’t need another 4-lane highway that runs parallel to those roadways. Again, please cancel this project!!
