Summary: A local resident opposes the Mid-States Corridor Project, arguing that it is unnecessary, will negatively impact local businesses and safety, and primarily benefits a small group of wealthy individuals. The commenter calls for the project to be cancelled in favor of maintaining existing roads and demands that the local community have the final say.
The Mid-states Corridor Project is number not needed, and the very large majority of residents in the areas surrounding the project do not want it. The studies that have been done by the group that is trying to push this project through for their benefit is very inaccurate. The governor wants this road as does Hank Menke, and both are the ones that can financially benefit from the project on the backs of the residents that don’t want the road and don’t want to pay for it. The group that is trying to push the project through is also directly involved and will financially benefit by stealing land from residents and building a un-needed road. There will be too many bad intersections created and it will drastically increase travel time for local residents on a daily basis. It will nearly cut Jasper in half, resulting in loss of business for local businesses. With all of the proposed-turns and dangerous intersections there will inevitably by an increase in accidents and fatalities. There half also been over 300 state road projects cancelled throughout the state. Why build an extremely expensive, in-needed road when you can’t even keep the current roads in good condition.
The ground trying to push this road through is corrupt. For the amount of money that they want to spend, it should benefit everyone, not just a handful of greedy, already filthy rich people. We don’t want our wonderful community ruined and changed for the worse.
The people that live in the community where the road is proposed should have the final say.
