Summary: The commenter supports the proposed action to lower acceptable radiation levels in the US food supply, arguing that current limits are far too high and pose a significant health risk to the public. They advocate for a policy that aligns more closely with Japanese standards to protect against cellular mutagenosis.
Your job is to protect the safety and cleanliness of the food supply to the US public among other things. That entails a massive change in your policy to acceptable radiation levels in our food supply. Currently the "Acceptable" limit in the US of radiation is 12 times more than that in Japan and that level is grossly too high. The US level should be one twentieth of the Japanese level. This policy should be enacted immediately. I don't want any excuses or lies. I want the public protected as is your legal and moral mandate not that of the bottom line of the nuclear industry. By having "Acceptable" levels where they are now you're showing your utter contempt for the public and the fact that you are working for the nuclear industry hence your are breaking the law. This, from Dr. John Gofman both an M.D. and a physicist who was the best ionizing radiation epidemiologist in the USA and possibly the world: https://ratical.org/radiation/CNR/LetterOfConcern.html A single atom of radiation can induce cellular mutagenosis including to DNA and with that a myriad of disease and death.
