I assisted with testing the installation process. It takes a vast amount of time to install and disassemble. I have concerns that crews will not want to use this type of barrier due to the safety risks in turbulence, etc.
A large portion of regional flights are too short to spend large amounts of time on this. Multiple times in testing stowage could not be completed as designed which leads to several safety concerns.
This design produces much more risk than acceptable. More time is needed to allow the manufacturer to create something that is vastly simplified.
Expecting crew members to study diagrams and number-based systems each time this is used on such a small number of aircraft (limited chances to build proficiency) is unrealistic.
This could lead to numerous undesired consequences and passenger objections and concerns.
