Summary: A taxpayer is requesting that the EPA add abortion pill-related contaminants to its monitoring work. The commenter argues that the government should investigate whether residues from these drugs in wastewater systems pose broader risks to public health and water quality.
Please prioritize clean water and public health by adding abortion pill-related contaminants to the EPA's monitoring work. The government has not done enough due diligence on what happens after these drugs are used and flushed into wastewater systems. That is exactly why the EPA should study whether residues in wastewater create broader risks. As a taxpayer, I expect federal agencies to protect families before a preventable water-quality problem grows larger. Please use the EPA's authority to investigate this problem and provide the public with clear answers.
