Summary: The commenter, a private individual living with cancer and disabilities, opposes the proposed community engagement requirements for Medicaid recipients. They argue that the new criteria would create unnecessary and cruel hurdles for vulnerable people seeking essential healthcare funding.
I'm writing about the stringent criteria that will go into effect for Medicaid recipients who have cancer and other weaknesses that they will have to prove beginning next year to get Medicaid. I'm not on Medicaid thank God. But I have cancer and other issues that make me have difficulty with balance and many other things. And if I were a reliant on Medicaid and had to prove all of these things, I would be very discouraged and depressed over this. It's hard enough to live with cancer and disabilities when you are 71 but to have to go through hoops to get the money that you need to live is just cruel and I pray to God that you have mercy on people that you know nothing about and I pray that you don't do this . What has happened to our country? We don't even take care of our people anymore. The weakest among Us! What are they supposed to do?
