Summary: Melissa, an Advance Practice Nurse (APN), requests that the proposed rules be updated to include all types of APNs (such as CNS, CNM, and CRNA) rather than only identifying Nurse Practitioners (NP). She argues that the current language unnecessarily limits the practice of other APN roles.
According to the language in the probosed rules, Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) are not included. Neither are Clinical Nurse Midwives (CNM) or Clinical Registered Nurse Anesthesist (CRNA). We are Advance Practice Nurses (APN) that provide care to patients that may included treatment of Respiratory Therapy and Rehabilitation. By only identifying Nurse Practitioners (NP) you are limiting the practice of the other 3 APN listed. Please reconsider changing the language of the proposed rules to include all APNs.
