In their words, "We are partners in our children’s education and in the success of our programs. Through Policy Councils, parent committees, volunteering, and leadership opportunities, many of us have learned how to advocate for our children, speak up in our communities, and become leaders ourselves. For some parents, Head Start is the first place where we realize that our voices matter. Parent voices should continue to remain central in decisions about the future of Head Start."
