I am an average American, I had a drone at one time some years ago and it has failed. I am nearing retirement age and wanted to re-explore the hobby as retirement may give me more time to travel to places to capture fun photography. I had heard about the potential DJI drone ban so I decided to purchase a Skyrover, as the reviews were very good for them. This morning, I paid nearly $1000 for a Skyrover X1 and the "care plan" to assist me if I damaged my investment. While watching some youtube videos regarding the Skyrover x1 I came across some videos informing of a possible ban for them too! Imagine my surprise and instant regret, that I has just moments ago spent money on something that the government is likely to ban within the next 30 days! If you ban this DJI alternative, there is no U.S. made drone that normal average Americans can afford to buy as the vast majority of U.S. made drones are military or commercial and the very very few that offer consumer drones are completely cost prohibitive. (example: previously approved Skyrover x1 $700, currently approved Autel evo: $3000). I understand that the ban wont prohibit me from using my Skyrover drone, but the "care plan" that I purchased provides replacement for a damaged drone. If Skyrover is ultimately banned, the money that I paid for that "care plan" will be the same as burning my hard earned dollars...I will suffer an economic hardship if this ban happens, please don't ban the Skyrover consumer/hobby drone! Please! Thank you for your time.
