Summary: The Overseas Returnees Association (ORA), representing former Ugandan security specialists, supports the enforcement of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) to address alleged labor violations by a private contractor. They argue that the contractor willfully violated minimum wage, overtime, and sick leave provisions while exploiting workers in a war zone.
On behalf of the former Foreign National Security Specialists (FNSS) from Uganda, i am submitting my genuine complaints to you for action.
While i and others worked in Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia under respective USA Private contractors, we were exploited in a number of ways including medically neglected, fraud in our remunerations, subjection of slave-like working environment and other forms of contract breach.
I therefore would like to forward this complaint especially those Ugandans who were deployed in Afghanistan and almost perished there during COVID-19 but the employer, Triple Canopy cheated us at his own pace.
I am attaching some relevant evidence so that we can be helped under this program,.
