To whom it may concern, I am writing to share my personal experience and explain why maintaining access to Employment Authorization Documents (EAD) is so important for families like mine. I came to the United States through the Uniting for Ukraine (U4U) humanitarian parole program. I am a single mother raising my 14-year-old son. Due to the ongoing war and safety concerns, I am not currently able to return to Ukraine with my child. The United States provided us with humanitarian protection, and the ability to work legally is essential for us to build a stable and independent life. I am currently working as a caregiver, providing care and support to people in my community. I truly value this work because I help people who need assistance and compassion. My clients appreciate my dedication, and in January I was honored to receive an Employee of the Month award for my commitment and hard work. My employment allows me to provide for my family, pay rent, buy food, cover transportation expenses, and support my son's education, including school books and other necessary costs. As a mother, my greatest goal is to provide my child with a safe, stable environment and the opportunity for a successful future. Having an Employment Authorization Document allows me to be financially independent, pay taxes, contribute to the American economy, and be a productive member of my community. I want to work, support my family, and continue helping others. Restricting access to work authorization would create serious financial difficulties for families like mine who are legally present in the United States and trying to build stable lives. I respectfully ask USCIS to consider the real-life impact of these changes and to preserve fair and accessible access to Employment Authorization Documents for eligible individuals, including those who came through humanitarian programs such as Uniting for Ukraine.
