I submit this comment in opposition to the Interim Final Rule titled USCIS Immigration Fees and Related Procedures Required by H.R.1 Reconciliation Bill, DHS Docket No. USCIS-2026-0133.
I feel that rejection of the asylum application for inability to submit the $100 fee within 30 days is unreasonable. I have worked with asylum seekers and there are language, financial, cultural and other barriers which often make it difficult to understand and comply with the directive to pay $100 within 30 days or have their case dismissed. Their cases should not be dismissed without adjudication as many are in danger if forced to return to their country of origin.
Please allow more time for the asylum seeker to comply with the directive and allow the case to be heard.
