Academy of Physicians in Clinical Research (APCR)OpposeAdvocacy
Summary: The Academy of Physicians in Clinical Research (APCR) opposes the proposed rule, arguing that it creates administrative barriers to international collaboration, undermines independent peer review by expanding political oversight, and threatens scientific freedom. They specifically express concern that the rule could stifle innovation, create uncertainty for long-term research, and restrict the communication of evidence-based scientific findings.
On behalf of the Academy of Physicians in Clinical Research (APCR), we would like to express concerns over the “Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance” proposed rule. We ask that you not finalize and instead withdrawal the rule. If adopted, the proposed rule would enact policies that could significantly impact clinical researchers and their ability to conduct quality scientific research and discovery across the United States. It would ultimately cede our leadership in life sciences to ascending countries, like China, who are aggressively investing in R&D.
