Summary: A graduate student worker at Yale University opposes the proposed changes to the OMB. She argues that the regulations would hinder critical research on the impact of weight loss drugs on women's reproductive health and subject researchers to politically-motivated oversight.
The Office of Management and Budget ,Hello,I am a graduate student worker at Yale University working on the impact of Ozempic and other weight loss drugs on ovarian health. The proposed changes to the OMB would significantly impact my ability to perform critical research on women’s health. Reproductive health affects everyone, including men. Restrictions on our ability to study the effect of a blockbuster drug on one of our most delicate bodily functions would be disastrous for the millions of people who now rely on weight loss drugs for their health. Even if we are able to continue our research under these new rules, we would be under the watchful eye of a politically-motivated government worker, making it impossible to prioritize truth over popular narrative. I urge you not to make the proposed changes to the OMB for the sake of me, my research, and the community that I am trying to protect.Rebecca Schellingrebecca.schelling@yale.eduWest Haven, Connecticut [ ]
