Summary: A small non-profit organization opposes the proposed regulation, expressing concern that it lacks clarity on "prohibited discriminatory practices" and could lead to the withdrawal of funding for disadvantaged communities. They also argue that the changes may impose an undue administrative burden on small organizations with limited resources.
As a small, community-focused, new, non-profit, we are extremely concerned about the proposed changes that will affect us in crucial ways: - We help disadvantaged, under-served and over-looked communities. The proposed amends are unclear on what would be defined as ‘prohibited discriminatory practices’ - this is particularly troubling in light of the current administrations view of DEI practices. A view that has adversely affected minority and under-served communities - the very people that DEI regulations were designed to help. Allowing existing Federal funding for disadvantaged communities to be withdrawn without due process is callous and will affect progress around the country. - Any amendment should allow for grant holders to continue to help underserved communities with no restrictions for those they help - As a small nonprofit, we do not have dedicated administration resources and are concerned that any revision that increases administration will adversely impact small nonprofits as ourselves.
