Summary: The American Water Works Association (AWWA) supports the NRCS's efforts to update conservation practice standards and specifically welcomes the inclusion of source water protection language in many of the proposed standards. They argue for further standardization of this language, the creation of a "quick glance" reference for source water protection, and the inclusion of source water protection language in other high-ranking practices identified through their CPPE screening methodology.
