I am STRONGLY OPPOSED to the proposed amendments to weaken regulations on radioactive byproducts. Environment and health evidence show that we need to increase protections against radioactive byproducts, not roll back regulations. Cancer and other radiation-related chronic illnesses are on the rise, and physicians and epidemiologists know this will only be exacerbated by rolling back regulation, resulting in increased deaths from radioactive byproducts. Increased exposure leads to increased risk of cancer, illness, and death. Our current regulations are outdated and need to be modernized to be made MORE strict, not less. Stronger regulation saves lives, and this proposed rule accomplishes the opposite.
