National Park Service 1024-AF11 is still to restrictive regarding the number of vehicles allowed per 24-hour period in the "restricted section" of Denali Park Road. The current proposed number of vehicles that may travel on the restricted section (miles 15-90) of the Denali Park Road is set at no more than 160 vehicles per 24-hour period during the Saturday before Memorial Day and ending on the second Thursday after Labor Day.
That works out to 1.88 or less than 2 vehicles per mile of restricted section (miles 15-90). I counter that the number of vehicles allowed should be 240 vehicles per 24-hour period for miles 15-90 which is 2.82 or 3 vehicles per mile of restricted section (miles 15-90). That is 1,760 feet per vehicle, more than enough to "maintain the park's quality" and allow for more people to view the park's wildlife and landscape.
