Please accept and read this important notice that there is a native and critically endangered species of whales in the Gulf of Mexico that needs your help for a chance to recover and survive.
Rice's whales are among the most endangered marine mammals on Earth. Found exclusively in the Gulf of Mexico, this rare species numbers is estimated to be 50-100 individuals period... in the entire world. Their survival depends entirely on the health and safety of Gulf waters, where they feed, breed, and raise their young and deserve full protections under the Endangered Species Act.
With the additional robust data available in 2026, there is no justifiable reason to remove status and protections from this uniquely Gulf species and time is critical.
The best available science strongly supports maintaining and strengthening ESA protections, management of industrial activities and expanded research and monitoring efforts to prevent extinction and support recovery of this unique Gulf whale.
Please do the right thing and give this matter your keen and timely attention for once they are gone, that's it... and the tipping point is close. Please do not allow them to be one more entry on a sad list of the extinct. They can recover if given the chance.
