I urge DHS to withdraw this proposed rule and to maintain the current $155 fee. Instead of imposing a drastic fee increase, which poses an enormous financial burden on low-income individuals, ICE should immediately use the taxpayer-funded ICE budget passed this week to drastically improve processing time and adjudication efficiency. Show that ICE can make efficient use of taxpayer funds before resorting to application fee increases to vaguely “recover costs.”
