Summary: Whitman-Walker, an advocacy organization, strongly opposes the proposed revisions to the Equal Access Rule regarding gender identity in community planning. They urge HUD to withdraw the Proposed Rule in its entirety.
Dear Secretary Turner, Whitman-Walker appreciates the opportunity to provide comments on the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (“HUD”) proposed rule on Equal Access to Housing in HUD Programs Revisions (the “Proposed Rule”). Whitman-Walker strongly opposes the changes to the rule entitled Equal Access in Accordance with an Individual’s Gender Identity in Community Planning and Development Programs (the “Equal Access Rule”) and urges HUD to withdraw the Proposed Rule in its entirety.
