My first requirement for government agencies and officials is that they not be cruel, especially to people who are already vulnerable. I oppose the new proposed rule on these grounds. Trans people, especially youth, are among the most vulnerable people in America, as are LGBT people. We need to keep protections for them, not eliminate those protections.
