Summary: Paula Vaughan, a community elder who works with people transitioning in housing, opposes the proposed rule. She argues that the revisions are a demeaning act that violates human rights by removing rights to shelter and safety.
To the Department of Housing and Urban Development,
I appeal to you as a community elder, in my late 70s, who works with people transitioning in housing. My teachings as a youngster in church, were the blessings to the persecuted and hated. Surely, victimizing groups of people by removing their rights to shelter and safety is an act of revoking their human rights and needs. This revision to the HUD programs is a vicious and demeaning act against everyone's humanity.
I urge you to withdraw the proposed rule "Equal Access to Housing in HUD Programs Revisions" (Docket No. FR-6518-P-01).
Sincerely,
Paula Vaughan
