Summary: Katherine and Mahmoud Ahmed, owners of Hodas High Life Vape & Tobacco, LLC, oppose the proposed federal ban on 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH). They argue that a complete prohibition would cause significant financial hardship for small businesses, drive consumers toward the illicit drug market, and suggest that a regulatory framework involving age restrictions and manufacturing standards would be a more effective way to protect public health.
7oh is not a drug and it’s not dangerous. For one you can not overdose on it like traditional opiates. Talk about a godsend medication in terms of harm reduction. This should not be emergency scheduled. This needs to be studied more. They did the same thing with psychedelics and that ban lasted 60 years before those things started getting reversed and everyone realized how foolish that was to do in the 60’s to target the anti-war movement. This is a scare tactic and it’s out of fear. If you look at the data and the science there is actually a LIT of medicinal value here. Thousands of veterans and people who use this daily for pain and depression will be out of luck. This needs to be studied period. This medicine helped me quit drinking alcohol daily and smoking a habit I had for 20 years. It has drastically improved the quality of my life and helps me with my work, my love life and my projects. Please do not schedule this. I promise you there is more to this that needs to be researched and understood.
