Comment from Gallatin Wildlife Association

Summary: The Gallatin Wildlife Association, a nonprofit conservation organization, strongly urges the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to list Yellowstone bison as a distinct population segment under the Endangered Species Act. They argue that the Yellowstone herd is uniquely significant due to its high level of genetic purity and its long-term persistence in a native landscape, necessitating specific protections to maintain its genetic integrity.
To Public comment processing of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service:

Please accept the comments below in the attached as those of the Gallatin Wildlife Association of Bozeman, Montana. We strongly and urgently advise the USFWS to declare bison within Yellowstone National Park as a distinct population segment as defined under the ESA of 1973. We have provided considerable evidence, scientific evidence of the reason to do so along with sound reasoning.

Thank you for allowing us this time to submit comments.
