Summary: A private individual opposes the proposal to open large portions of wild lands to hunting. They argue that such actions threaten endangered species, specifically citing lead poisoning in eagles, and emphasize the need to preserve wilderness for future generations.
I am writing to express my deep concern over the proposal to open 95 percent of our wild lands to hunting. We cannot allow this, our eagles are already suffering and dying from lead poisoning and this is just one example of the threat to a critical species that will be made so much worse by opening up vast amounts of our wilderness to hunting The United States must preserve its last remaining wild places and all the species that dwell within them, each are critical parts of a larger whole, once it’s gone it’s gone forever. We must focus on sustaining the health of our wildlife populations and our wilderness refuges. We must preserve these uniquely beautiful parts of our country for future generations, they are what makes this country beaitiful
