Public Comments Processing Attn: FWS-HQ-NWRS-2026-1223 U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service 5275 Leesburg Pike, MS: PRB (JAO/3W) Falls Church, VA 22041-3803 As a passionate waterfowl hunter, I offer support of the actions of the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) to open or expand waterfowl hunting opportunities on National Wildlife Refuge and National Fish Hatchery lands as published in the proposed rule National Wildlife Refuge System: 2026-2027 Station-Specific Hunting and Sport Fishing Regulations filed on May 26, 2026. The demand for waterfowl hunting access is severely constrained in many areas of the United States, and refuges can play an over-sized role in providing incremental, high-quality hunting access. I was encouraged to so many openings or expansions for high quality access and opportunity as a result of Secretarial Order 3447 signed earlier this year. As waterfowl hunters, we are the single most significant constituent and supporter of the National Wildlife Refuge System via the purchase of the Federal Duck Stamp. As a result, I believe it is wholly appropriate and encouraged that waterfowl hunting opportunities for Americas sportsmen and women remain at the forefront of future planning through the continuation of this rule. I look forward to continuing to see incremental access opportunities proposed by the Service in the areas that need it the most in the years to come.
