Summary: The commenter opposes the petition to modify the order, arguing that the current ownership of Twitter/X poses a significant risk to consumer data safety. They highlight the mass layoffs of security and trust and safety personnel as evidence that the company is less capable of protecting user information than it was previously.
The CEO of Twitter/X fired a bunch of people, including security and trust and safety ones, so there is no reason to think that he has the ability to keep data safe even if one did not have... concerns... about his personal ethics for wanting to keep data safe. The company should get no special treatment to salve his prodigious pride. As another commenter said, "The terms under the Twitter settlement are to protect consumers." There is no reason to think consumers are *more* protected under the current ownership and every reason to think they are less-so.
