Summary: A long-time coastal resident opposes the proposal to withdraw public comment access for Forest Service directive changes. The commenter argues that public input is essential for informed decision-making and protecting the local environment and economy.
I live along the coastline between Jenner and Gualala. I see the importance of this staying healthy for the animals in the ocean, and those of us who make a living feeding people and caring for the vegetation. We have frightening experiences along California coast lines, and others. This would invite more to make the disasters possible. Rolling back comment access would invite a serious lack of education for those making decisions who are not familiar with all the activity on so many important levels has. I've lived here for 47 years, and have been part of helping to keep this pristine place a viable source of life and beauty. Please have the Forest Service withdraythis proposal and keep directive changes, Manual and Handbook alike, open to public comment.
