Summary: A parent of a child with religious dietary restrictions is requesting that regulations be issued to allow schools to proactively offer nondairy milk options. They argue that providing nutritionally equivalent nondairy milk at every meal service ensures all students have access to healthy beverages.
As the parent of a child who drinks nondairy milk for religious reasons, please issue the regulations allowing schools to proactively offer nondairy milk directly on the lunch line, as well as at breakfast, snack, and supper. Allowing schools to proactively offer nutritionally equivalent nondairy milk options at every meal service would help ensure all students have access to a healthy beverage at school.
