Summary: The Soft Lights Foundation supports the proposed action to restrict vehicle headlight intensity. They argue that modern low beams are too bright compared to mid-1960s standards and advocate for a return to older specifications to protect drivers' eyesight.
Make the automakers follow the specifications that existed for years for automobiles built to be used in America. High/low beams on today's vehicles
must conform to the amount of footcandles allowed in the mid 1960's. It seems that today's low beams are the same intensity as yesterday's high beams..
People's eyes today have not changed to accommodate increasingly brighter lights. So ban the present generation of too bright lights, and return to sanity!
