Summary: The Soft Lights Foundation opposes the current standard for LED headlights, arguing that the high brightness and blue spectrum cause eye damage and reduce night vision. They suggest that LED technology should be adjusted to produce a less harmful light spectrum.
LED headlights are too bright and have too much blue in them. This causes damage to the eyes. It makes it especially difficult for those who have astigmatism and/or cataracts, and brings harm to young developing eyes and really to everyone's eyes. There is no reason to include the blue spectrum in LED headlights. There is also no reason to make them so bright they are more comparable to the brights setting in older headlights. The headlights reduces night vision and are dangerous. LED is very adaptable and a compromise can be found reducing the bright blue/white light to something less harmful.
