Summary: An individual is expressing concern that the proposed Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) requirements will negatively impact the availability of affordable medications from compounding pharmacies. They argue that these regulations could force patients with specific health conditions to seek unregulated medications because their insurance does not cover the drugs.
Please do not stop compinding pharmacies from making GLP medications. This has been a lifesaver for me. My glucose has been fluctuating and not under control, and because I am not diabetic, I do not qualify for it to be covered under health insurance. Also, because I am on a federal government health insurance, I do not qualify for TrumpRX, therefore my cost out of pocket is unaffordable. It is only affordable to me through a legitimate compounding pharmacy. If you stop them it will force people to go to the grey market which is not good. The pharmaceuticals need to lower their prices for individuals who need this drug when their insurance will only cover it if you are diabetic. I am insulin resistant and also have fatty liver, and also, have a heart condition that it helps, but insurance still will decline my coverage. Compound pharmacy is the only way I can afford this drug to help my conditions.
