About a year ago, at the age of 79, I received a shocking diagnosis which was that I had a rare autoimmune disease that was attacking my kidneys.
By the time it was diagnosed, I was quite sick, extremely weak and my kidneys were damaged.
My nephrologist recommended a course of treatment
which included trying Tavneos after first taking a high dose of steroids to reduce inflammation.
After I was weaned off the steroids, I started taking Tavneos. My doctor explained a lot about the drug and its potential side effects. The scariest one for my husband and me was potential liver disease. We were given an information packet from Tavneos which included the list of the most seriousn side effects and less serious side has effects. When I received my first bottle of pills it included a Medication Guide sheet. It starts by discussing the fact that Tavneos may cause liver problems. It lists symptoms in great detail. I have received this sheet with every refill. I have been on Tavneos for about a year with no side effects and my condition has been stable for quite awhile. I am back to living a very active life. Tavneos has saved my life.
