Tavneos use in my patients has been very beneficial. It treats a disease group that not only is difficult to control but is potentially fatal. With so few options to treat, removing this product based on information that is yet to be understood would be irresponsible and detrimental to patients. It IS saving lives. Knowing this liver concern will help prevent poor outcomes and consequences in the future but eliminating its availability will harm more than it will protect. We don’t deny peanuts to the world just because some people are allergic and have died from them. This medication needs to remain an option and used responsibly.
