Summary: An individual commenter supports the proposed actions to mandate risk warnings, regulate formula marketing, and restrict free samples. They argue that the public deserves honest labeling regarding the risks of formula and the benefits of breastfeeding.
Material omission of facts is deceptive marketing. The public deserves honest labelling. I agree that the FDA should a) mandate risk warnings b) regulate formula marketing claims c) restrict free samples, especially in any healthcare setting (following the WHO code) d) investigate material omission of information on breastmilk reduction with use of formula. You say you want a healthier America. It starts with informing our public accurately about the risks to breastfeeding success and the overall health and wellness of the child who cannot speak for oneself to receive the gold standard nutrition of human milk. Human milk was meant for human babies, not formula.
