Summary: The American Bar Association (ABA) supports the draft guidance and urges the FDA to issue final guidance that promotes the use of new approach methodologies (NAMs) in drug development. The ABA argues that the guidance is a critical step in removing barriers to methods that replace, reduce, and refine animal testing in regulatory contexts.
On behalf of the American Bar Association (ABA), I submit the following comments on the Food and Drug Administration’s Draft Guidance titled “General Considerations for the Use of New Approach Methodologies in Drug Development.” The ABA supports the draft guidance and urges the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to issue final guidance supporting the use of new approach methodologies (NAMs) in drug development.
