Summary: Holly Anderson, a private individual, supports the petition by advocating for 503B compounding pharmacies to have access to GLP-1 drugs. She argues that these pharmacies provide essential, affordable access to medications like semeglutide and tirzepatide for patients who cannot afford the brand-name versions.
I disagree with the petition on behalf of Novo Nordisk 21 C.F.R. § 10.30. I believe 503b compounding pharmacies should have access to glp1 drugs to compound semeglutide and tirzepatide. These compounding pharmacies have helped thousands lose weight and shed the comorbidities that affected their health. I have been on a compound version of tirzepatide and have lost 25 lbs. bringing down my bmi from 35 to 32. My blood pressure has improved dramatically as well as my snoring. I wouldn’t be able to access this medication if it were not for the compounding 503b pharmacy. There is plenty of business to be had for both Novo Nordisk and compounding pharmacies. It is simply inaccessible to many due to exorbitant prices that many need to turn to 503b pharmacies. These are safe and dependable ways to get these drugs. If they are relied upon for other types of medications than why would they be considered less than safe for glp1s? Please consider the health and wellbeing of the many that rely on these compounded glp1s and continue access for the pharmacies to obtain the drugs to make them. Thank you, Holly Anderson
