To the FDA To say that the recent FDA decision to allow plant-based imposters to be called milk is a bad choice would be an understatement. By allowing those companies who manufacture plant-based "milk" to market themselves as such, you are allowing consumers to be misled and deceived as they guess that the name means the plant milk is of roughly equal nutritional value to cow milk. Essentially, you're allowing customers to be cheated. How can that ever be considered an ethical decision?? Those guidelines provided in the decision are still not enough. You must completely ban those companies from using the word "milk" to mislead, lie to, exploit customers! Heck, you yourselves clearly define milk as coming from animals, so why allow this hypocrisy to continue?? What's next, water with 1% of the nutrients of cow milk being considered "milk"!? You may say, "sorry, but we have no legal power or basis to ban plant-based milk companies from using the word "milk". They could just sue us and win every time.", but that's no excuse. Such a response would be a diplomatic way of saying "we don't give a duck about consumers and aren't willing to fight in court to protect them". Allowing the plant-based imposters to be called "milk" is just allowing them to lie to people, while contradicting your own definition of milk at the same time. For shame. At the VERY LEAST put in stricter regulations to make sure people understand that the word "milk" means absolutely nothing in the context of plant-based "milks"! I swear, if you guys at the FDA allow this to continue, you are letting down the people of this nation and forfeiting your goal of regulating food and drugs for the betterment of the public! CHANGE THE POLICY NOW OR THE PEOPLE WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!!! From a really damn pissed person
